Creating my company

A security company actually covers 3 different activities. Some companies specialize in surveillance and guarding. They offer human or remote surveillance services to ensure the protection of property and the people on it.

Others specialize in cash transport. This involves providing a secure transport service for currency, jewelry, rare metals, or any other goods that require high-security transport.

Finally, some specialize in protecting people, in order to preserve the physical integrity of people exposed to various risks. Many former employees of private security companies decide to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure, alone or in groups. Are you thinking of taking the plunge?

What official certifications are required to create a security company?

Creating a private security company requires an approval issued by the Territorial Delegation and the National Council of Private Security Activities (CNAPS).

The application for approval must be made by the entrepreneur who can commit the company to third parties. No form of activity can begin without official approval.

What legal obligations must you meet to carry out your project?

Any person acting as a manager or partner in an approved company must meet two legal conditions:

  • Being a French national, a national of a member state of the European Union, or of a state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
  • Having a clean criminal record and not having been subject to any disciplinary action.

Anyone wishing to work in this field must hold a professional license issued by the relevant CNAPS (depending on your place of residence).

Renewable every 5 years, it is valid throughout France.

It is strictly forbidden to practice any profession in the field of security without obtaining this card.

How to choose your legal status and set up your company?

If you wish to work alone, we recommend that you choose one of the following legal forms:

  • EIRL (Entreprise individuelle à responsabilité limitée). As the name suggests, the entrepreneur is only liable for the amount of capital he or she has contributed to the company. His or her personal assets are protected in the event of bad business, and cannot be used to recover any debts.
  • EURL (Entreprise universelle à responsabilité limitée). It offers the same advantages as the EIRL, but its manager is considered a self-employed worker. It benefits from a specific social protection scheme, less effective than that of salaried employees.
  • The SASU (Société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle) is particularly flexible. Its day-to-day operation is set out in the articles of association. The Chairman of the SASU is covered by the general social security system.
  • The micro-entrepreneur status status is particularly easy to set up, manage and wind up. Your social security contributions are calculated on the basis of your gross sales. This is capped at €176,200 for sales activities and €72,500 for services.

If you want to set up a company and bring in one or more partners, we recommend :

  • La SARL SARL (limited liability company): Run by a day-to-day manager and an annual general meeting attended by all partners, the company requires at least 2 partners and a minimum share capital of €1. Partners' liability is limited to the amount of their capital contributions to the company. Administrative formalities are simplified, and you can choose your tax regime.
  • La SAS SAS: A minimum share capital of €1 is required, and at least two partners are needed to set up a company. An SAS is managed by a Chairman, who may be a natural or legal person. It therefore has a solid Internet organization and simplified governance.

Why choose company domiciliation?

Security companies have everything to gain by using the services of a domiciliation company. What does this involve? A domiciliation company offers legal domiciliation services to individuals or legal entities. Approved by the prefecture on which it depends, it provides its clients with a registered office as well as a postal, commercial and administrative address.

A security company can therefore benefit from a prestigious registered office address, located in the most popular districts of the capital, from just a few tens of euros per month!

It more easily inspires confidence in all your customers and financial partners!

This is the ideal alternative to using your home address, as it protects your personal address from any online threats or disclosure. It's also a cheaper solution than renting commercial premises.

Much more than just a mailbox, they also allow you to benefit from many services designed to make your daily life easier: telephone switchboard, legal and administrative assistance, meeting room rental, etc.! Business domiciliation allows you to focus on tasks with higher added value: those that make your company successful!

With SeDomicilier, you can obtain your certificate of domiciliation in less than 5 minutes, in a 100% online process. What's more, all your services are then available in a personalized, secure virtual office!
