The Kbis extract is a company's "identity card". It can be requested as proof of a company's legal existence. Even if the Kbis extract has no validity date, it is frequently requested to provide a Kbis extract that is less than 3 months old. This means that some entrepreneurs need to have their Kbis issued regularly, but this can be a time-consuming process: how quickly and at what cost can you obtain a Kbis extract?
The Kbis extract is the document that identifies your company, a sort of "identity card".
It contains information such as :
- Your company's RCS number
- Share capital
- Information on the manager, directors and statutory auditors
- Company name, acronym and logo
- Legal form
- The address where your company is domiciled
- Creation date
- NAF code
- Detailed activity
It is generally used by companies when they need to prove their existence and certain information to commercial and social partners. The Kbis is also useful for opening a business bank account or taking out professional insurance.
There are two main ways to obtain your Kbis certificate:
- The first is to go directly to the clerk's office of your local commercial court. You can then pick it up directly at the counter or receive it by mail.
- The second solution is to apply online at infogreffe.fr.
There are also private websites that allow you to obtain your Kbis, but the price will be much higher.
Issuing a Kbis extract costs money, even if it's not very much.
Here are the fees for obtaining a Kbis extract:
- If you have decided to collect your Kbis directly from the registry: €2.96
- Postal delivery: €3.96
- Electronic: €3.70
If you have just set up your company, the Registrar's Office will send you your Kbis extract within 3 to 7 working days. However, it is possible to request a provisional Kbis at least 48 hours after submitting your application.
If you request a re-issue of your Kbis, you will receive it almost immediately after submitting your request, whether online or at the registry counter. If you request it by post, it should take a maximum of 3 working days.
